About Scott Cohen

Scott Cohen is the creative force behind The Green Scene’s landscape design talent and construction technique ability, encompassing all aspects of outdoor living. He is a landscape designer, (or, as he prefers to be called, garden artisan), an author, a construction defect expert witness, a public speaker, country music lover, and devoted husband and father.

Unlike many other designers, Scott is a licensed contractor in landscape, swimming pool and general construction, enabling him to service every phase of a project. He is constantly pushing the envelope with new construction techniques and developing his management systems to deliver unparalleled workmanship and professionalism to his clients. (License # 340258 B, C-27,C-53),  

Over the past 20 years, he has grown his business far beyond where it started 40 years ago as a lawn care company. The Green Scene has become one of the premiere landscape design and build firms in Los Angeles area. That growth can be attributed to Scott’s unique approach to creating designs that reflect the personalities of the homeowners as well as the attributes of the home and yard.

Scott has received the coveted Masters of Design Award 3 times for his swimming pool and other outdoor room designs, as well as multiple other awards.

Scott also enjoys meeting with and educating other designers and contractors about the techniques and lessons he has learned throughout his career so far. He teaches seminars at trade shows and conventions throughout the U.S. And Canada on a regular basis.

Over the past 3 years, Scott and his staff have written and published 10 landscape design and construction books which are available on Amazon.com.
